Bar Tricks And Illusions With Cigarettes And Money

Here are a few tricks and illusions that could be performed in a bar, with cigarettes for smokers to do something more healthy with cigarettes than smoke them. These tricks can be performed by non smokers as well as smokers. Smoking is a bad habit and can damage your health, so all you smokers out there should quit and start looking for a more healthier habit such as eating fresh fruit or going for a little light exercise.

Anyway, here we go with the tricks and bar stunts that you can use your cigarettes and the money that you would use to buy them for, other than smoking them or throwing away your money.

Magnetic Cigarette Trick

Here is a simple but very effective trick using a straw or a cigarette.

Lay a cigarette on a table and then explain to the people around the table about the art of static electricity.
Pull up your sleeve and rub your forearm vigorously. Then, putting your fingertips on the far side of the cigarette, pull your fingers slowly away from the cigarette. The cigarette will follow your fingers like a magnet.
No one will be able to do it. You can even make the cigarette come back towards you.
This can be done by cupping your hand slightly in front of the cigarette and the cigarette will come towards you.

Method: The trick is to blow slightly in front of the cigarette if you wish it to go away from you, following your hand.
If you wish it to come towards you, cup your hand slightly and blow on your hand while bringing it towards you on the table. The hand will reflect the air onto the cigarette which will come towards you.


This simple trick will fool many an adult. Do not be afraid of them discovering you blowing as they will be concentrating on the action on the table. Perform this trick somewhere that there is background music or noise, which should make sure they do not hear you blowing.
Practice this trick before trying it on your friends.

Rub your finger on your arm to give the impression of charging it.                    Hold your finger above cigarette, blow gently and move finger forward, ahead of the cigarette.                 Cup hand in front of cigarette and blow gently into hand which should make the cigarette come back to you.

Unbreakable Cigarette Trick

There are a number of tricks, involving money and cigarettes. This is a clever trick that does not require you to smoke and where you can challenge your friends in the bar or other place, that you will be able to bend a cigarette in two, so that the ends touch, without breaking the cigarette.

Challenge ::         Bend a cigarette in two so that both ends touch, then straighten out the cigarette, leaving it in one piece and unbroken.

You Will Need : A cigarette and a money note.

Secret:                   Roll the cigarette up tightly in the paper money note. You can then bend the cigarette so that both ends touch.  The                              cigarette, still in the note can then be straightened and the note unravelled to reveal the cigarette which should                              be whole and unbroken. The cigarette can then be passed around for examination.

            Make challenge, then produce note and cigarette.          Roll the cigarette tightly in the note.          Bend the note back on itself so that the ends touch. Do this in one direction and then the other.          Spectators view of handkerchief, coin held with elastic band on other side is not visible.       

         1) Get money and cigarette                 2) Roll cigarette tightly in the note.      3) Bend note double, both ways.        4) Unfold note , cigarette is whole.

Penetrating Ashes Magic Illusion

Effect: The magician takes a cigarette and rubs some of the ashes into the spectators clenched fist until they dissappear.
 He then says some magic words and asks the spectator to open their fist to reveal that the ash has penetrated onto their palm.

Preparation: To perform one of the best illusions, put some ash on your middle finger before performing the trick.

Method: Tell the spectator to stand in front of you and hold their hands out towards you,  palms facing down.
Tell them to come a little closer and physically grab their hands to gently pull the person a little closer.
At the same time touch their palm lightly with the ash on your middle finger.
 Ask them to close their fists, borrow a lit cigarette which you use to flick some ash on their fist and rub in until the ash disappears.
 You can then say some magic words and ask them to open their hands to see that the ash seems to have penetrated their fist.

This trick can get a really good reaction but should only be performed once or the spectators will get wise.

  Put a little ash on your finger, before performing this trick.          Ask the spectator to stretch their arms out in front of them.              Correct the spectators hand position, discretely placing the ash from your finger into their palm. Face their palms downwards.

                                     1) Put some ash on your finger.          2) Ask spectator to hold out arms.       3) Correct hand position and put ash in spectators palm.

  Get spectator to clench fists and get a little ash on your finger. Rub this into the spectators hand until it dissappears.                         Spectator is asked to open their hands where they see that the ash has appeared to penetrate through to their palm.  

         .                                                   4) Rub ash into spectators fist..                        5) Spectator opens their fists to reveal ash.
